Bugs

It is, as all of you know, human nature to err. Please forgive us for any bugs in filesystem Basica, and co-operate with us by informing us about any possible bugs/exceptions you encounter.

There are some flaws in the system which we have spotted, and the next version will cover them efficiently.

1) When you want to create a new directory, including a file in it is a must, we will see to it that this is covered and only directory creation is possible in the next version.
2) Search Engine: Our experts are currently working upon a search technology and indexing function in the filesystem Basica, and we are sure to include it in a later version.
3) In-Built Advanced Text Editor: We are working upon a graphical, powerful, in-built text editor to create and edit files in one go.
4) Edit Files: filesystem Basica does NOT permit you to edit any file. This feature will be made available in a later release along with the text editor.
5) Log: filesystem Basica will have a history log in a later release that will store all the operations carried out by the user at the precise time, and date.
6) Copy-Paste/Cut-Paste/Moving: We will allow moving the location of files, or creating copies of them in a later release. Currently, we have only made the function to move basic text files (NOT INCLUDED), and we will expand upon it to Image I/O, Video I/O, Music I/O, etc. We are also creating an image viewer (GRAPHICAL, OBVIOUSLY) for the application, along with a music player with built-in video playing capability.
7) Capture the internet!!: We are working upon a mini-browser that will let you browse the internet efficiently. Also we are half-way through the process of creating a chat-client that lets you communicate with a different computer directly, instead of having user accounts, or anything like that.
8) Remote Access: Unexpected until v2.0.0, as work upon this feature has not been started yet.
9) Hardware Control: The filesystem Basica's current version does not access the hardware, or interact with it much. We will work upon it, but do not expect anything upon this until v3.0.0
10) Anti-Virus: An in-built anti-virus for filesystem Basica is expected to be made and released with it, but this will not be till v2.0.0, or v3.0.0, or even later.
11) We are going graphical!!!!!!!!!: Don't expect this until version 5 at the most!!!!!!!!

Any more bugs?? Post them on Softpedia as a user review, or comment here, or email to us@

Features of filesystem Basica v1.01

filesystem Basica v1.01 provides the following features...
  • Advanced directory deletion. (Deletes at blazing speeds, unlike the default windows delete)
  • Enhanced File Viewing:- View any file, and check it's contents...
  • File or directory creation:- Allows to create new directories or files...
  • View directory contents:- Enhanced loop shows all of the directory contents...
  • Executable Format:- The format is .EXE, not .JAR. (The File has been made using Java)
Notable points about directory deletion...

In Java, deleting directories with files inside them is not possible directly. So, the deleteDir(File x) function deletes all the sub-files and sub-folders at maximum speeds, instead of deleting the directory as a whole. It saves a lot of time, as a result. EviGronn Developers are planning for a file indexing software, which may as well be a replacement for the default search tool in Windows. The file indexer will use the same technology as the advanced deleteDir(File x) function. It will save minimum 2x of your time, because it plainly searches for the sub-string, or the search term you typed. As it scans only the filename, and file path, searching a vast 50GB drive, or a tiny 4MB folder won't make any difference to it. The amount of files, rather than the space occupied will matter. If you use the Extreme Search option, it will search for the strings or sub-strings inside files too. But over here, space will matter a lot, but the advantage is that the search results will always be precise, unlike the Windows Searcher. And each time you search the same term, the search becomes faster, as the software will check it's indexes first, and it is sure to find many files over there unless you have previously deleted them. And another software called Calculatex is being developed which can calculate entire strings instead of calculating in pairs. Using arrays, it will do so. filesystem Basica v1.01

We are proud to launch Project filesystem Basica v1.01, as our first project. Work on the project shall commence from the 17th of June, 2010.
Aims
  • It is a basic filesystem, and can be re-used by anyone developing a Linux/Java distro.
  • The application is made available as .JAR and .EXE, we will not convert it for you.
  • The original author's name should be present.
  • It is a command-prompt (cmd>_) based application.
  • It is CUI(Character User Interface) instead of GUI(Graphical User Interface).
Thanks for your attention,

Welcome to the EviGronn Blog. The EviGronn Software Foundation, apart from a team of exceptional, certified programmers, is active in coding applications with Java Technology,
and has a team of professional graphic designers. So if you are going for software, direct yourself
towards the EGSF(EviGronn Software Foundation). Our world-class software products are always free, so any one can download and use them. The OpenEviGronn Foundation For OpenSource develops world-class, free, OpenSource products. So you are legally entitled to
redistribute, resell, or modify our products from OpenEviGronn Foundation. All of the programs from the former are licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3. Note that as later versions keep releasing, the terms will automatically keep changing, and you must agree to them. But don't worry, they won't take away your OpenSource rights, they will update according to the needs to ensure that the author is secure from all harm caused by any such software.

EviGronn is Norwegian for Ever Green, and we always say -
"To be evergreen, you need to be green first... To be green, you need to be consumer-oriented... And to be consumer-oriented, you need to be OpenSource, in some ways, or all of them..."
If you are an individual or an entity wanting to start a software foundation/corporation selling free/OpenSource software, we
will be happy to help...
